Yeah, it's laser.  Pretty good printer, we sell it for $250 at Staples.  Comes w/ a 1500 page toner cartridge in the box and replacement cartridges are $80 for 2500 pages worth of printing (3.2 cents per page).  The drum is good for approximately 12,000 pages of printing and costs $130, so you'll probably toss the printer once that goes, but it's still pretty damn cheap if you do the math ...

Printer = $140
4 Toner Cartridges = 4 x $80 = $320
11,500 sheets of Laser Paper = $155

Total = $615 for 11,500 prints (5.3 cents per page total)

Comparing this to a similarly-priced inkjet printer, the Canon MP460 (one of the better all-in-one printers we sell at Staples in this price range) ...

Starter Black Cartridge (40) = approximately 300 prints
Replacement Black Cartridge (50) = $40 for approximately 500 prints

Printer = $150
22 Ink Cartridges = 22 x $40 = $880
11,500 sheets of Multi-Use Paper = $95

Total = $1125 for 11,300 prints  (10 cents per page total)

This, of course, is assuming the inkjet printer will last for 11,300 prints, when it likely wouldn't last even 5,000 prints, so feel free to add another $150-$300 (or $22 - $44 if you get the replacement warranty from Staples) onto the total cost to factor that in.  Obviously, the Canon has the advantage of printing colour, printing photos, and a smaller footprint, though, which many people want.  For students, small businesses, home offices, and people who only print occasionally (toner doesn't have a shelf life like ink does) though, this printer is a great choice.
