Authentic Taiyo Yuden DVD-R media, made to the highest standards. Highest quality, suitable for duplication and public distribution. Disc features no stacking ring -- this means it can be printed by today's high speed disc production systems.

Value line media TYG03 media code.
Now certified at 8x.

Value line, tape-wrapped (no spindle), TYG03 (normally 16x) certified at 8x burning speed, 100 discs. Blankmedia.ca's sales are of the "here today, gone tomorrow" sort, so if you want them, don't wait.

NCIX sells this same product (TY Value line) for $52.54, although their current listing is for TYG02 @ 4x certified:

That's the only DVD media I buy.

And this price is lower than NCIX's when on sale - thelast time I bought it was for $31.99, quantity limited to one per customer at NCIX. Great deal.

Thanks for the post, ftp1020!

I just received my 2 bundles and they shipped me TYG02 DVD-R.

It was supposed to be TYG03. Too bad.

Hi Korean,

The linked page clearly says,

"Value line media TYG03 media code.
Now certified at 8x."

If that's not what you got, contact them and ask them to make it right. You wanted TYG03, the website says TYG03, and they shipped TYG02 - their mistake. Please let us know how they respond. If they are don't play nice, there's always the Better Business Bureau, Ontario Consumer and Commercial Affairs, and I'll start a flame/bashing thread on the blank media forum on cdfreaks.com. I'll also contact cdfreaks.com to let them know one of their advertisers doesn't ship what customers order.

They should also pay for return shipping AND shipping for the correct replacement. From what I've seen before, they do try to satisfy customers, but if they don't ... they'll regret it.

I'm not trying to add insult to injury here or anything but I would like to point out that TYG02 is actually supposed to be much better than TYG03. Aside from generally better write quality, I don't believe that the TYG02 stuff has the same bonding problems that the TYG03 does.
Personally, if I got TYG02 rather than TYG03, I would be thrilled

I agree that TYG02 is awesome, but it's very important for companies to realize that they *must* ship what was ordered and not what they think is "better" (see MDG thread). Even when they happen to be right...

Was it 16x burning you were hoping for, korean? And if so, on which burner? Many will overspeed TYG02 to 16x.

Maybe, I was hoping to try at 16X. Just, to see.

But, if the TYG02 give better results, then it's not too bad.

Nevertheless, I will send a email to blanckmedia.ca.

Someone else received the same thing?

Absolutely true that companies should ship what they promised. The substitution of most companies would more likely end up causing you to lose out in the end. However, again in this case, if they have run out of TYG03 and actually have TYG02 (which would be amazing), it would deserve it's own thread as a absolutely fantastic deal! I know of people who would kill for TYG02.

The product description has been changed to note that most spindles are shipping with TYG02 media code in this current batch.

The TYG02 media code is a much more stable product for burner compatibility and players IMHO.
