I'm starting a new sticky for special contacts for breeders & contracting services.
Please feel free to reply with your contact and your services/speciality.
I am a hobbyist, but since my fish like to breed a lot I have to sell extra fry. I don't have much space to grow them.
At the moment the following of my fish are occasionally breeding:
- Sciaenochromis fryeri - Electric Blue - Blue Ahli (they are breeding the most since my Blue Ahli is the biggest of my fish and is not allowing other fish to breed too much. My breeding male is Iceberg variety. I presently have lots of young fry of this kind available. Picture of my breeding male is attached.
- OB Peacocks - including Albino OB peacocks. My albino are very nice - usually with orange or golden body, some blue on the fins and they have red eyes. Picture of my breeding albino OB male is attached. I am also attachig a picture of one of my young OBs - this one has now found a new home. This was a young male with lots of gold and blue still colouring up.
- Sunshine Peacocks - Aulonocara Sp., not sure which variety I have. I am attaching a picture of my breeding male. - Red Empress - Protomelas taeniolatus . The female is Super Red, the male might be Super Red variety as well. Not sure 100% about him since I had 2 males breeding and one was for sure Super Red and the other was probably regular Red Empress. Now the young male is starting to breed, other is gone. He looks like Super Red.
- Neolaprologus Pulcher - "Daffodil" - recently they are breeding a lot in my 75 gallons despite many much bigger fish around. They are great parent and the young fry are smart too. Picture of some of my Daffodils is attached. These was a group of young fish I had, now they found new homes.
- Lethrinop Letrinus - I have WC male (now about 5-6" and F1 young fish I got from Darius (WC male is also from Darius). I was hoping to get a female for my WC male. It looks like I did since my young F1 fish (now around 3" just started to breed. I just got a bunch of my first fry from them today. Once the female will grow bigger I will move her to my other tank, so she can breed with my WC male. The males of this kind are very nice green-blue and they have some red on the fins.
I also have some other fish, which might be breeding.

Hello I was glad to find this page. I have been having trouble with pet store fish in my area,(partly my fault I didnt quarentine) but I have lost alot of fish due to illness. it has taken me quite a while to clean my tanks out. When this happened I decided to try and find a breeder who would sell to me directly. but had trouble finding any who would ship to canada. Do you have a web site where I can look at your fish? I am new at this not always sure what I'm doing, sorry if this is not the proper way to contact you kelly
I am not sure if your reply to this thread was directed to a specific person or you are just ansking anybody who has replied to it previously.
If you would like to keep African Cichlids, I presently have Electric Blue Ahi available. They are about 1.25-1.5", $3 each or 5 for $14, 10 for 25. I also have a few bigger fish - l presently have a pair of Taiwn Reef (the male is albino) and I have 1 beautiful green-blue young male - Letrinops Letrinus, about 3" for $20. He is F1. I also have 1 Bushy nose pleco - about 4" for $15 and one albino OB peacocks, about 2" for $10. I will also have to sell 2 beautiful black and white catfishes. Those are probably from South America and they are quite big. I don't know what kind they are. Nobody new the name. They are very beautiful, but need at leasts 100 gallons tank.

Renata
thanks Renata for the reply.my husband has a 70 gallon with african cichlids, we cant add any more to it right now its full, or at least the fish think its full. they kill or eat anything new we put in it. I was looking for angels. I would like to get a few differant colors in a small size and let them pair up for breeding
MOST of these guys are still on here and breeding fish although they have probably changed most of their species as we all get tired of looking at the same fish all the time and want to experience breeding and raising of different species!
I would also like to state that as of September 2008 we at Finatics will be one of the largest(if not the largest!) hobbyist/breeder/wholesaler/retailer in Ontario if not Canada.... with the store in Scarborough (over 150 tanks and 7,000+ gallons of cichlids) and the move to Guelph (fish farm with over 150 tanks and 15,000+ gallons of cichlids) this should bring us to a new elevation!
If anyone has any questions or you are looking for something then please send me a pm and I will try to help you out in the best way that I can.... thanks.. mb
I still occasionally have the following fish available:
- RED EMPRESS - Protomelas taeniolatus: female is Super Red variety, male is at least 50% Super Red, so the colours of their offspring, particularly reds, should be enhanced. I have 5 left from the last breeding, bur they will be probably gone by the end of this week. Somebody said they want them.
- SCIAENOCHROMIS FRYERI - ELECTRIC BLUE - BLUE AHLI - very beautiful, males have almost fluorescent looking blue colour. I don't have any fry available at the moment, but I still have the breeding pair.
- NEOLAPROLOGUS PULCHER - "DAFFODIL" - very nice with long tails. I presently have many young fish available. They are breeding very often.
- LETHRINOPS LETRINUS - I have one WC male and 4 other fish of this kind - F1. They are not related. They are occasionally breeding. They are blue-green, with some rainbow colours on the scales, particularly when they are younger. They also have some red on the fins. Very nice and hard to get, rare fish. I presently have 10 young available for sale, about 1.75-2" each.
I don't have anymore Sunshine Peacocks and my female OB died, so I only now have one very beautiful albino OB male, so no babies at this time, unless I will get a female again.
I am attaching pictures of my Red Empress male, as well as of my WC Lethrinops Letinus male, Sciaenochromis fryeri male and a few Daffodils.
I can sell any number of these to the best offer that comes in or we can trade I am looking for... - Up to 3 female yellow tail acei - 1 male and 1 or 2 females Pearl Zebra (Metriaclima Callainos) - 1 female Melanochromis Auratus

hi I just wanted to see if you still breed these fish and if so how much you sell them for. I am not ready to buy any right now (no tank space) but hopefully I will be in the Spring/Summer and would like to find a good breeder before then.
