did you just set-up the tank?
try feeding less and more water changes. and keep the light on less or none at all.

My tank has been running for over a year and i have calvus in it. I can not change more than 15% of water everyweek cause calvus does not like too much water change. I have some plants growing on my driftwood, so the light is on for 12 hours a day. The problem is brown algae covers my plants, rocks and woods. Any suggestion? thank you, friend.

Why do you have driftwood with Calvus? Maybe if the water was at a proper PH the calvus could tolerate more frequent water changes.

thanks, goat_bou. I have driftwood there. when i changed 15% or more water (with water conditioner already), the calvus is not comfortable for a while. I have to remove the algae by my hand everyweek during water change. The algae did give me a little headache. I alread have a gold nugget to eat algae, but he does not eat much.
