ALL Safeway stores with Full Service Delis have a barbeque chicken availablity guarantee between 4pm and 7pm. If they don't have any or make you wait, you get a FREE one or a voucher for a FREE one on your next visit.

I got the following e-mail from them last week confirming this:

Dear XXXXXX: Thank you for your recent correspondence. I will be happy to answer your questions. For all Full Service Delis, the cook chickens are guaranteed to be available between 4pm and 7pm. If there are no chickens available, the customer will receive a free chicken. The customer can stop by the customer service booth for the free chicken on the day of purchase. Please let me know if there is anything else that I can assist you with. If you would like to discuss this further, please call us at 1-800-723-3929 and reference contact I.D. XXXXX. One of our associates will be happy to assist you. We appreciate your business and look forward to seeing you soon. Thank you for shopping at Safeway. Also, if you look at the TOP of the price tags of all bakery items in plastic packaging (i.e. muffins), you will see a statement that reads "French Bread Hot at 5 p.m. or FREE". Most Safeway bakery departments have chosen not to have staff on hand at 5:00 p.m. to ensure that the French bread is hot. Result: Free french bread for ALL!
