1. ENTRY PROCEDURE
To enter the Conair "Tame the Beast" Contest (the "Contest"
go to
www.tamethebeast.ca to fill out the entry form on-line. Contestants
must complete the official entry form including full name, age,
address, e-mail address and telephone number on the website during the
Contest Period (as defined below) in order to be eligible. Limit one
(1) on-line entry per household, per e-mail address, per day.
The Contest will be open from 9:00 AM (EDT) on August 17, 2009 until 4:00 PM (EST) on December 28, 2009 (the "Contest Period"
.
The odds of winning a prize are directly related to the number of eligible entries received during the Contest period.
No purchase required.
2. CONDITIONS OF ELIGIBILITY
The Conair Contest (the "Contest"
is open only to individual
persons who are legal residents of Canada, excluding Quebec, who have
Internet access as of August 17, 2009 and must have reached the age of
majority in the province or territory in which they reside at the time
of participation in the Contest. Directors, officers and employees of
Conair Consumer Products Inc. (collectively the "Contest Sponsors"
and
their respective affiliates, licensees, and their immediate family
members (father/mother, brother/sister, son/daughter) or persons living
under the same roof with such persons are not eligible to enter this
Contest.
3. PROCEDURE FOR AWARDING PRIZE
On December 29, 2009 at approximately 9:00 AM (EDT) at Conair's
Toronto office a representative of Conair Consumer Products Inc. will
randomly select four (1) potential Grand Prize winner and ten (10)
potential Secondary Prize winners from all eligible entries received
during the Contest Period. Prizes will be awarded in the order listed
below.
In the event of a dispute as to the identity of a winner based on an
e-mail address, the winning entry will be deemed to be made by the
“authorized account holder” of the e-mail address at the time of entry.
The “authorized account holder” is the natural person who is assigned
an e-mail address by an Internet service provider or other organization
responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated
with the e-mail address in question.
Attempts will be made to contact the selected contestant by
telephone and contestant must respond within two (2) business days of
the first attempt. If a contestant cannot be contacted or does not
respond within the above time period, an alternate name will be
randomly drawn from the original list of eligible entries. To be
declared a winner, the selected persons must first correctly answer,
un-aided, a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question in
writing, posed by Conair Consumer Products Inc. at a mutually
convenient time and sign and return the waiver form provided by Conair
Consumer Products within two (2) business days of receipt and otherwise
meet and comply with all conditions of these regulations.
4. DESCRIPTION OF PRIZE
Grand Prize: There is one (1) Grand Prize available to be won. The
Grand Prize consists of a “Total Hair & Beauty Makeover” with a
stylist AND a Conair® hair care Gift. The Grand Prize of a “Total Hair
& Beauty Makeover” is to be fulfilled at a salon of the winners’
choice in the city/region where the winner is selected. Transportation
to and from the salon is not included as part of the prize package.
Total retail value of the Grand Prize is estimated at $1,500 ($1,000
CAD credit in services at a salon of your choice and $500 for the
Conair® hair care Gift Basket). If you currently reside in a
city/region with no hair salons within a 25 km radius, a cheque for
$1000 CAD will be given to the winner as a substitute. Please allow 4
to 6 weeks to receive your Gift Basket. Limit one (1) Grand Prize per
person, per household.
Secondary Prizes: There are ten (10) Secondary Prizes available to
be won, each consisting of a Conair® hair care Gift Basket with an
approximate retail value of $300. Please allow 4 to 6 weeks to receive
your Gift Basket. Limit one (1) Gift Basket per person, per household.
5. GENERAL RULES
5.1 Each winner shall agree, if necessary, to have his or her name,
city of residence, likeness, and/or voice used by the Contest Sponsors
for advertising purposes connected with the Contest, in any media,
without notice or compensation.
5.2 The winner shall sign a document attesting to his/her
eligibility as stipulated in section 2 of these regulations and
releasing the Contest Sponsors and their respective affiliates,
directors, officers, employees, agents, and licensees from all
liability for any damage or loss resulting from participation in the
Contest or arising from the awarding, acceptance or use of the prize.
5.3 If it is impossible to supply the prize as described in these
regulations, the Contest Sponsors reserve the right to substitute for
the prize in whole or in part, one or more prizes of an approximately
equivalent or greater value.
5.4 Refusal to accept the prize releases the Contest Sponsors of all responsibility and obligations.
5.5 The Contest Sponsors shall assume no liability resulting from
losses, delays, typographical errors, poor technical or telephone
operations, losses of mail or e-mail, loss or stealing of
data-processing, breach of software or computer equipment, or
fraudulent calls, for any failure of any websites during the
promotional period, for any problems or technical malfunction of any
telephone network or lines, computer on-line systems, servers, access
providers, computer equipment, software, or failure of any e-mail or
entry to be received by the Contest Sponsors on account of technical
problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website, or
any combination thereof including any injury or damage to an entrant’s
or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from
participation in the Contest or viewing or downloading any Contest
material. The Contest Sponsors reserve the right, in their sole
discretion to cancel or suspend the Contest without prior notice should
a virus, bug or other cause beyond the reasonable control of the
Contest Sponsors corrupt the security or proper administration of the
Contest. Any attempt to deliberately damage any web site or to
undermine the legitimate operation of this promotion is a violation of
criminal and civil laws, and should such an attempt be made, the
Contest Sponsors reserve the right to seek remedies and damages to the
fullest extent permitted by law, including criminal prosecution.
Entries are subject to verification and will be declared invalid if
they are incomplete, illegible, garbled, mechanically reproduced,
mutilated, forged, falsified, altered or tampered with in any way.
5.6 The Contest Sponsors shall assume no liability of any kind
whatsoever in any cases in which its inability to act results from an
event or situation unforeseeable or beyond their control, including
more particularly a strike, lock-out or any other labour dispute in
their place of business or the places of business of the organizations
or businesses whose services are used to hold the Contest.
5.7 All names, addresses, telephone numbers, e-mail addresses and
any other personal information gathered on the Contest website are
gathered for the purpose of administering the Contest and will not be
shared with any third parties who are not directly associated with the
Contest.
5.8 Should a contestant make any false statement as determined, in
the sole and conclusive opinion of the Contest Sponsors, he/she shall
be automatically disqualified from the Contest.
5.9 Participation in the Contest includes acceptance of these
regulations, which shall be applied by the Contest Sponsors . All
decisions of the Contest Sponsors are final.

5.11 This Contest is organized and administered by Conair Consumer Products Inc.
5.12 This Contest is subject to all applicable Federal, Territorial Provincial, and Municipal laws.
